Couples Therapy
I tend to be engaged and directive in couples work with the hope of creating an environment that is warm, responsive, sturdy, and safe.
In couples therapy we meet for longer sessions, typically 60-75 minutes. This helps the work progress more quickly and supports earlier stabilization.
Some things I focus on…
Helping each person stay connected to themselves so that they can connect with each other from a grounded place.
Developing an embodied awareness of self and other.
Cultivating a felt experience of goodwill and love so that the atmosphere is safe enough to tell the truth.
Creating space for each partner to turn toward the wounded parts of themselves, process trauma, and move away from fragmentation and toward wholeness.
I typically meet with couples weekly until things feel connected and well resourced. From that point, I often move to every other week, then monthly, and eventually titrate down to as needed.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy with me is focused on building a genuine relationship wherein each and every part of you is welcome. Sessions are typically 45 minutes and begin with a weekly cadence until we have a solid relationship. From there, we can meet for longer sessions, less regularly, or work around whatever seems right and needed.
In these sessions, I tend to check in on three main things: what you are noticing in your body, what is happening in our relationship, and what you are feeling emotionally.
Here is why…
Body: Our bodies are detailed record keepers and masters at keeping us safe. In this way, they are also an important means to understanding ourselves and becoming more whole.
Relationship: Because we are often first hurt in relationships, interpersonal dynamics (including with a therapist) are also where we heal.
Feelings: Emotions are important signals but they are also one of the primary means we have of metabolizing and moving through experiences. While they can sometimes be inaccessible or just difficult to feel, not doing so is the very thing keeping us stuck.
These three things create the framework from which to talk about what is happening presently, how things have been in the past, and what seems missing, lost, or broken
Some of my strength areas as therapist include anxiety, aging, motherhood & identity, feeling disconnected or overly caught-up in relationships, spiritual navigation, grief & loss, chronic pain, overwhelm, attachment trauma, & creative/professional identity.

Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP)
“The story our bodies are telling is sometimes true about right now, sometimes about what we’ve been through, and sometimes about what has happened to those in our family systems. But the story always, always deserves to be heard.” - Dr. Hillary Mcbride, Holy Hurt
My approach to KAP focuses on the attachment relationship. This kind of treatment emphasizes experiences of healing and solution for parts of the self that have been cut off or stuck in historical wounds. If you would like to learn more, feel free to contact me here.
