Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes and begin with a weekly cadence until we have a solid relationship. From there, we can meet for longer sessions less regularly or work around whatever seems right and needed.
“The story our bodies are telling is sometimes true about right now, sometimes about what we’ve been through, and sometimes about what has happened to those in our family systems. But the story always, always deserves to be heard.”

In these sessions, I tend to check in on three main things: what you are noticing in your body, what is happening in our relationship, and what you are feeling emotionally.
Here is why…
Body: Our bodies are detailed record keepers and masters at keeping us safe. In this way, they are also an important means to understanding ourselves and becoming more whole.
Relationship: Because we are often first hurt in relationships, interpersonal dynamics (including with a therapist) are also where we heal.
Feelings: Emotions are important signals but they are also one of the primary means we have of metabolizing and moving through experiences. While they can sometimes be inaccessible or just difficult to feel, not doing so is the very thing keeping us stuck.
These three things create the framework from which to talk about what is happening presently, how things have been in the past, and what seems missing, lost, or broken.
